Progressive Caucus members who haven't stood up

As of now, the following House members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus have NOT signed the letter initiated by Congressmen Alan Grayson and Mark Takano pledging: “We will vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits -- including raising the retirement age or cutting the cost of living adjustments that our constituents earned and need.”

  1. I am disappointed that the first black elected as president turned out to be so spineless. He seems unable to accomplish anything he campaigned for.
  2. I also disagree with the author on third parties. I see no hope that the Democratic Party will ever again be anything by the lesser branch of the Corporate Party. All of the comments that "third parties never win" are self-fulfilling. You persuade people that's true, and it becomes true. And, as another commentator noted, even if you don't win high-level elections at first, by turning your back on the Democrats and voting for true progressives wearing other labels, you let the Democrats know they have no future if they continue on their present path, and let people know there are alternatives to knuckling under to the plutocracy.
  3. I recently heard Jill Stein of Green Party speak - Guess what, the Green party does not have to win to win! All we have to do, like the Liberty Party that protested slavery and the Women's Party that fought for women's vote, is make an impact on the two major parties! Anyway, by 2016, the planet will be so messed up, people will be begging for the Green Party to help them. Write your state congress critters to be sure the Green Party is on your voting menu. In NC, it is not, but there is a bill to allow far less signatures than before to get a new oarty on the balliot. Call your state legislators.
  4. I'm interested in building a progressive primary challenge to Sam Farr In California's 20th District.
If there are others interested contact me on Facebook.
  5. Disagree with the solution suggested for the problems we face. It won't be enough to just vote these people out. The party machine will simply thrust forward more of the same. You don't get anywhere in the Republicrat party if you haven't been thoroughly vetted. The Dems are already talking about running Hillary in '16 and she's Obama in a skirt. We need an alternative party to the Republicrats. Until that happens, we will be ruled by oligarchs and their puppets in government. The US is well on its way to becoming a third world country and unless people open their eyes and make some tough choices, things will continue to go from bad to worse. Just because the Republican branch of the Republicrat party is bad, doesn't mean the Democratic branch of the Republicrat party is good.

    TESTIMONIALS

    • “It’s not hard to bring out the worst in large numbers of citizens by constantly pressing their buttons; fear, hate, greed, false pride and blind loyalty are the main emotions used to manipulate people so much these last years. Reversing this process and empowering people through courage, love, generosity, humility and critical thinking is harder but it can and must be done.”
